Our bylaws require the membership to consist of at least 80% Corporate members.  Information on how to maintain membership, once accepted is outlined in the Maintaining Membership Policy.

Our current membership focus for individuals is:

Corporate Membership

  • Fortune 500 or equivalent organizations: metro-Atlanta based headquarters or large divisions when the headquarters is outside metro-Atlanta
    The individuals considered for membership are the CHRO and enterprise or large business unit head of talent.
  • Large organizations: more than 5,000 employees, metro-Atlanta based headquarters or large divisions when the headquarters is outside metro-Atlanta
    The individuals considered for membership are the top HR and talent executives who have demonstrated strategic responsibility, have broad HR generalist strategic responsibilities, or strategic OD/OE/DEI/talent management and/or learning responsibilities in their current or previous role. Consideration is only given if the individual is recommended by and reporting directly to the CHRO.
  • Medium organizations: between 1,000 – 5,000 employees, with metro-Atlanta based headquarters or large divisions when the headquarters is outside metro-Atlanta
    The individuals considered for membership are the top HR and talent executives who have demonstrated strategic responsibility, have broad HR generalist strategic responsibilities, or strategic OD/OE/DEI/talent management and/or learning responsibilities in their current or previous role. Consideration is only given if the individual is recommended by and reporting directly to the CHRO.
  • Small organizations: 500 – 1,000 employees, with metro-Atlanta based headquarters or large divisions when the headquarters is outside metro-Atlanta
    The only individual considered for membership is the top HR executive, and they must have demonstrated strategic HR responsibility in their current or previous role.

Service Provider Membership
The individuals will only be considered for membership if:

  • They are senior-level professionals who serve in a leadership role in the firm, practice, region, and/or vertical organization of a company that provides human resources products and/or services to businesses in one of the following areas:
    • Assessment, coaching, consulting, development, and training
    • Benefits including insurance and communications
    • Legal services
    • Career transition and outplacement services
    • Staffing, recruiting, and executive search
    • Technology
  • They are leaders who have demonstrated strategic responsibility and have an HR focus in their current role.
  • They must present at least three (3) referrals from current HRLF corporate members.
  • The firm they represent must participate as a partner or sponsor at the time the individual joins and at least once every 48 months for the individual to maintain their membership in the HRLF.
  • Service Provider membership is distributed using the maximum percentages in each category noted below:
    • Assessment, coaching, consulting, development, and training (55%)
    • Benefits including insurance and communications (15%)
    • Legal services (15%)
    • Career transition and outplacement services (15%)
    • Staffing, recruiting, and executive search (20%)
    • Technology (25%)

 

NOTE: The assigned category will be based on the firm’s largest source of revenue.

 

Applications are submitted online for review.  Membership applications are reviewed by the New Member Recruitment subcommittee using the criteria outlined above.

  • Corporate member applicants will be contacted within 14 days and an interview will be scheduled to discuss the HRLF and confirm the individual meets the new member criteria.
  • Service Provider member applicants will be contacted within 14 business days to discuss the HRLF, their eligibility, and if there is availability in their business category based on current Service Provider member distribution using the maximum percentages noted above.
  • If space is not currently available in the Service Provider member category, and the individual and their firm otherwise meet the criteria, the individual will be added to the waitlist.

 

 

An individual annual membership is for one calendar year (January 1st through December 31st) and includes the member's attendance at all HRLF events. Dues will be charged as outlined below based on the new member's join date:

Corporate

  • 1/1 - 6/30 = Full dues for the current year
  • 7/1 - 10/31 = Prorated at 50% for the current year and full dues for the following year
  • 11/1 - 12/31 - Complimentary membership for the remainder of the year and full dues for the following year

Service Provider

  • Join 1/1/ - 6/30 = Full dues for the current year
  • Join 7/1 - 10/31 - Pay 1/2 for the current year plus all of the following year
  • Join 11/1 - 12/31 - Pay nothing for the current year, but all of the following year

Note: For previous members that are re-applying after 3/31, the New Member Dues Schedule above applies.

 

 

Your annual membership includes:

  • Opportunity to build and develop strong relationships with bright and innovative HR Executives through our peer network.  
  • Dynamic programs and events with other HR Executives and thought leaders.

  • Quarterly member communication called The Member Exchange (ME), highlighting new members, upcoming events, discussions, and other timely information.
  • Complimentary attendance, meals, and parking fees (where they apply) at HRLF events (see Event Policy for additional details).
  • New for 2024 - Two (2) corporate nonmember vouchers per year for SPARK Series programs or pop-up meetings that can be used for eligible or ineligible nonmembers (valued at $500).

  • New for 2024 - Two (2) corporate nonmember vouchers per year for SPARK Series programs or pop-up meetings that can be used for eligible nonmembers (valued at $500).
  • A listing for you and your company in the public online Service Provider directory.
  • A mention of your company in the annual membership report communication distributed to members.
  • An annual opportunity to submit published research reports for distribution to the membership.
  • New for 2024 - An annual opportunity to offer discounted or free services to members through The Member Exchange such as free certification programs, consulting hours, etc.
